Inverted Full-Back
The inverted or false full-back is barely a new role. However, in contrast to the simple idea of fielding a left-footed player at right-back or vice versa, the modern type of an inverted full-back becomes an additional central midfielder during the build-up play. Instead of advancing vertically, the inverted full-back moves to the zones in front of the centre-backs, while pushing the central midfielders forward.
